Chef Sathin (pronounced “Saw Teen”), Owner and Chef of My Thai La Quinta, began her culinary journey at the tender age of 8. Born on a rice farm in Northeast Thailand, she inherited the art of traditional Thai cooking from her parents. Her passion led her to Bangkok, where she honed her skills under renowned Thai chefs in prestigious restaurants while simultaneously pursuing her university studies in Thai cuisine.
Driven by a dream to share the authentic Thai dining experience, Chef Sathin emphasizes the sensory allure of Thai food – its appearance, aroma, taste, and the intricate play of spices. She has spent years cultivating special Thai herbs in her garden, adapting them to the Southern Californian climate. Every dish at My Thai is a testament to her expertise, prepared to order by Chef Sathin herself.
After moving to America in 2001, Chef Sathin catered for family, friends, and significant charity events, including relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami in Thailand. In 2015, her dream materialized with the establishment of My Thai La Quinta, a beacon of authentic Thai cuisine in Southern California, serving dishes crafted with the freshest ingredients in a warm, family-friendly ambiance.
